#8 Two scored, two conceded, two dropped. | PL Brighton (a)

One of my least favourite fixtures, this one. No matter how good the Liverpool team is at the time, they always seem to make it so much harder than it needs to be, and Brighton always seem to show up. It’s always a “classic” and I hate it. Had Liverpool won or managed to get a point away at Spurs, a point at the Amex might not seem too bad, but given City have now lost two on the bounce, it feels like such a wasted opportunity to only get 1 point over the course of two games. It’s a long season ahead though. Big win for Arsenal, that. Two absolutely terrible goals to give away. Just head it, son. I can’t really fault Andy Robertson so far this season, been one of the best players, for me. He’s just got to head that away though. He's got to.

Salah. The main man. He’s got every right to be livid after that game. He’s done what he needed to do. I’ve seen he’s been posting adverts on his social media so don’t think he’s too bothered, which I’m fine with. At least he’s not posting a “We need to be better and we will be better” kind of post. That’s when you know there’s a problem, and to be honest, I don’t think there’s any glaring problems. I do, however, think it’s a concern that they’ve once again cut themselves short on a position. Everyone knew Liverpool needed a defensive midfielder, yet they’re playing a lad in that position who is clearly way out of his depth. It’s not a particularly fun experience to watch MacAllister struggle in there. If the lad you bring in specifically for that role isn’t good enough to play there, then questions have to be asked unfortunately. It is a long season, and it’s not time to panic, but also we know better than anyone else that the finest margins really do make or break a season. Can’t wait for the next ga… oh, wait. Another international break. Literally no one wants this.
