#19 Diogoal | PL Burnley (a)

These refs, mate. Bloody hell. That’s all I’ll say. It’s all I can be bothered to say. These refs. That was a fairly easy win, wasn’t it? Burnley tried, but never really had the quality. Part of me feels sorry for them, but then part of me just can’t be arsed with them. The games are never entertaining at Turf Moor, and this game wasn’t much different. They’re just miles off the level, and they didn't really lay a glove on the Reds.

Halfway point of the season, and Jurgen's lads are sitting top of the league, albeit probably only for a few hours, but they’re there, and that’s all that matters. Fourth best start to a campaign during the Premier League era and I don’t even think they’ve played that well for most of it. There’s so much more to come from them. I mean, it could all go pear shaped when Salah leaves for AFCON, but having Diogo Jota back amongst the goals will surely help the situation. So clinical. It could have been a nervy last 5, but nope, he just slots it in and kills the game. Love it. The game had the potential to be a banana skin for the Reds, but the imperious leader, Virgil van Dijk (and his defence) made sure the Burnley lads didn’t get a sniff. More of that please.
