I was fearing this one. Honestly, it’d been on my mind for days. That Europa League game was on and I couldn’t even concentrate cause I was just thinking about how good their midfield is. I try my best to remove myself from football once the game has finished. I find myself getting too consumed in it and then it winds me up. Not this one though. Heart was doing double its normal pace at kick-off.

When City had that spell 10 minutes in, my worst fears came true. I thought they looked incredible. The Reds did alright, and I knew they’d find their way into it, but it didn’t look good. They rode the storm, and that Nunez offside chance (the fourth one), turned the tide a bit. They could get to them.

Second half was the complete opposite. It was some performance. It’ll probably get overlooked given the result, but I thought the Reds ran them all over. They absolutely hate not having control. It’s what makes them so boring to watch. They just kill games dead and don’t let the opposition have a chance. When you go at them, get in their face and stop them playing their game, that’s when they struggle. It’s why they struggle at Anfield so consistently. MacAllister and the other fellas were so good in that second half. Really really really good.

Just a quick note on the PGMOL lads. Doing their absolute best to keep the title race ticking over. They’ve completely lost the plot. All over the TV, on the comms, on the sports news channels, on the radio, on the Gladiators, but funnily enough, not doing post-match interviews. Funny that, innit? 

The title race is still on. They’re still there. They’re more than there. They’re wanting it. And they’ve got to go to the Etihad and get something, and I’d love it if they drew. Love it.
